We went with a theme of "pretty minimalism." It started with an old West Elm kilim rug that I bought for her nursery and a cool horse print I found on Etsy. From there, I decided I loved the versatility of a Jenny Lind bed. It can be made modern or more traditional. I found the lamp at Ikea but found some good alternatives that I'll link below. The side table is Pottery Barn. I prefer wood when looking at lower tox items, and PB has come a long way in terms of making low tox furniture. In fact, they do extensive lead testing and feature many GREENGUARD Gold Certified products that are screened for more than 10,000 chemicals and VOCs that are commonly known to pollute indoor air, certifying that these products contribute to cleaner air in your home. Both the bed and side table are GREENGUARD GOLD Certified. I'm not your typical bed in a bag gal, but I really liked this set {Fair Trade sheets are separate from PB Kids}.

Yes, I chose white; ask me in a year if I am still happy with that decision.

I wanted a dresser that would pop. It had to be well-made and be something other than wood or white. I found this green dresser from Crate & Kids and instantly fell in love {also GREENGUARD Gold Certified}. We move a lot, and so many times, I shuffle furniture into different rooms. This dresser could work in Jackson's room, a guest bedroom, as well as Evie's.

It's the dollhouse for me. I always wanted one, and a few years ago, I snagged this one from Hearth & Hand at Christmastime. Amazingly, they still sell it. The Ikea kitchen remodel was so much fun to do. There are a million of them on Pinterest, and I jumped on the bandwagon to create a custom kitchen for the kids. I've linked everything below with some other fun options.

I find the best rooms are a combo of some things old and some new. What do you think?
